This delightful project is a full Passivhaus – not just Enerphit! – retrofit of a standard 3-bed semi, to make a super-comfortable family home.
A standard semi has the ideal form factor for Passivhaus, and unlike so many self-builds, this project sensibly avoided going overboard on glazing. This saves a lot of money – and should also make thermal comfort a whole lot easier to maintain in warm weather.
The owners also kept the costs down by getting hands-on themselves where they could, giving them a double sense of achievement.
